We'll need some details to get started, the property address, and the selling agent's information and your details.

We'll also gather important dates like the cooling-off period or auction dates to ensure we meet your schedule.

Step 2 - Organising Inspection

 

Inspections are arranged through the selling real estate agent who provides access to the property. Our inspectors have your important details and will contact the agent to schedule it for you. This process is quick, usually the booking is confirmed on the same day.

 

Step 3 - Inspection Day

On inspection day:

  1. Build Pest West completes your inspection.
  2. The inspector will contact you to explain their findings.
  3. You will recieve your report the same day of inspection via email.
  4. If you have any follow up questions your inspectior will be happy to help.

Frequently asked questions

Can I attend the pre-purchase inspection?

We encourage you to attend on inspection day, our inspectors are more than happy to show you their findings onsite rather than over the phone. For safety reasons, please wait until your inspector has completed their inspection, then they will guide you through their findings.

I don't want to book online, is there another way?

Not a problem, call us on 0407 251 572. We'll can do it over the phone for you.

After I book, when will the inspection take place?

Generally 1-3 days. During the checkout tell us if you have any critical auction or cooling off period dates and so we can complete the inspection to your timeline.

What happens if the inspection uncovers major defects?

If major defects are found ultimately you will need to make the decision if you'd still like to purchase the home. Once found talk to the selling agent about them, in some cases you may be able to negotiate a price reduction. 

Are your inspectors registered builders?

Thats correct, all our inspectors have a Domestic Builder Unlimited License with the Victorian Building Authority. They are also licensed Pest Control Operators registered with the Department of Health.

Are your inspectors insured?

Yes, all our inspectors have both professional indemnity and public liability insurance.

Can Build & Pest West do an inspection outside of Melbourne's western suburbs?

We will do inspections outside of Melbourne's west if you are a repeat customer, or in special circumstances. Please call us on 0407 251 572 to arrange.
